Wilson finished with a 5-0 mark at the state tournament, though she will long be remembered as a pioneer for the sport at M-A, where she began as the lone member of the girls’ team as a sophomore and quickly inspired and to join.

In its 2nd year as a program, the Bears won the Central Coast Section team title. M-A placed 8th at the state meet, with 62.5 points. Selma won the title with 111 points and Corona was 2nd with 83 points.

Wilson recorded pins in the person opening bout and the championship match. She won 2 other matches in sudden victory and earned a 5-1 decision in the semifinal.

The PAL champion knocked out Gunn’s Dash Lee, 6-0, during Saturday’s wrestlebacks.
